Our HQ and original soulful sanctuary for 11–14 year old’s – blending education, wellbeing and critical thinking in South Manchester
Since opening the doors at our Manchester HQ, back in November 2022, we’ve been transforming the lives and outcomes for young people, their families and the local community. We focus on providing the pastoral care, community support, and critical thinking needed to safeguard young people and ensure they have the confidence and networks to soar. Our team of local youth workers and educators are now delivering and recruiting more young people for our new youth-led programme, starting in February 2026 – ‘Build A Brand.’
The school is located at St Mary’s Courtyard, St Mary’s St, Hulme, Manchester M15 5WB

Rekindle is open Tuesdays to Friday 16:00 – 19:00 during term time. Rekindle does not overlap with a normal school day, nor is it an alternative to a young person’s mainstream schooling. We have creative sessions on a Saturday which run from 10-1pm at the Whitworth Art Gallery.
Our programme changes during the school holidays and we run holiday clubs. Please sign up to our newsletter for the latest information via our contact page. These are subject to change but there will be plenty of information shared ahead of time.
Rekindle school is completely free. We work tirelessly so that we can raise the funds to provide a school that is accessible for all. We have done everything we can to provide an environment and education that is not limited by postcode or the bank balance of parents.
Exercise plays a key role at Rekindle. We believe that a physical education stimulates and nourishes the minds of our young people and prepares them to learn, critically assess and improve their overall engagement. The nutrition and nourishment of our young people is extremely important.
Attendance is not mandatory. We are sympathetic to how busy a week can be and that for some students, socialising every day can be tiring. Rekindle projects are designed with a weekly schedule so if there is a specific project a young person wants to be involved in, they can determine which day(s) of the week they would like to attend.
Our meals are always high quality and packed with nutrition and flavour. We have partnered with the brilliant Eat Well MCR who provide free evening meals for our daily sessions.
Please see our framework page for information about our curriculum.
By making a donation to Rekindle, you’ll be supporting the young people who attend the supplementary school.
